Use and Care
- Preheat the Press. Place the cast iron press directly on your grill, griddle, or pan while it heats. A hot press prevents sticking and creates a superior crust.
- Prepare Your Burger. Form ground meat into loose balls (not flat patties). Season lightly (salt + pepper works best).
- Place Burger on Cooking Surface. Put the ball onto a hot, lightly oiled cooking surface.
- Press Down. Place a square of baking paper over the ball (prevents sticking) and place the heated burger press on top. Apply firm, even pressure for 10–15 seconds. The lip helps keep edges uniform and prevents splatter.
- Let It Cook. Do NOT keep pressing repeatedly (this removes juices). Flip once when a crust forms.
- Clean & Maintain. Wipe clean (no soap if possible). Re-season lightly with oil after use.
Before first use:
Hand wash in hot water and dry with a towel.
After use, clean your burger press with a nylon brush or sponge and hot water. Towel dry immediately and apply a light coating of oil to the burger press while it is still warm. Store in a cool dry pace.
